Karen & Ruben Popet – Beraca Orphanage in Jdioara, Romania

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.   James 1:27

Dear Friends,

Abundance has been the word for this month. God has blessed us in so many ways. We want to share a few of them with you. Pastor Gaylon, our special friend for many years, came to visit us. He brought us a few suitcases full of medicine. This is such a big help for our medical clinic and the orphanage. It saves us a lot of money. We had a great time while he was here. The children love it when he comes. Another financial blessing was that extra finances were given to help pay for the transportation for the high school students. We are so thankful for each of these blessings.

Food is another essential that we spend a lot of money on. A church from a nearby town brought us the produce that was given for their Harvest Day. Another evening, a friend of ours brought pizza for everyone. There was so much that we had it for two days. And, the supermarket in Lugoj where we have been purchasing food from every week of this year for the food bank decided to help our ministry. Last week they gave us four tons of food, cleaning supplies, juices, toiletries, etc., for free. Then, they made a contract with us to give us their extra produce on a regular basis. It is a huge blessing for the food bank. And, it is a big help financially for us. God is so faithful to provide.

Every year we spend a lot of time, money and effort putting together presents for the children of Pesac. This year, our special friends from Germany came and brought 160 presents all wrapped and with labels of ages and gender for Pesac. What a tremendous blessing this is! We are so thankful for their sacrifice to not only put all of the packages together but to bring them to Romania. Thanks so much. We had a great time with the group that came, too. They played games with the children, made a special breakfast for them and had a bonfire one evening. They also brought everyone a pair of house shoes, a blanket, some clothes, toys and more. It was a great weekend.

Our freezers are full, too, as we killed one of our bulls this week. We have meat for a few months plus pizza that we received a couple of weeks ago. With Thanksgiving coming, we have a lot to be thankful for. God has blessed us abundantly this year. These are just a few of the blessings we have received throughout the year. We are thankful for each one of you, too, for your prayers and financial gifts to us. Thanks for being willing to be involved in our work here. We pray you all have a blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends.

With our love,

Ruben, Karen and Bianca
